Client: Mayo County Council

Location: Inishturk, Clew Bay, Co. Mayo

Cost: €2 million

Description: Malachy Walsh and Partners carried out a feasibility study relating to the development of the existing harbour at Inishturk. The study included: an assessment of user requirements through public consultation, numerical modelling of coastal processes, an environmental review and an evaluation of various development options. The preferred development option has been designed, contract documents prepared, permissions obtained, tenders received, assessed and the contract awarded. The construction is now complete. This harbour will allow boats to access the harbour at most stages of the tide and provide shelter for moored boats for a greater part of the year. The work was commissioned by Mayo County Council.
