Client: National Roads Authority

Cost: €1.4Million

Completion date: April, 2007

Description: Strengthening of existing cantilever footpaths using Carbon Fibre Reinforced Plates (CFRP) and the replacement of the existing sub-standard parapet. The waterproof membrane and surfacing were also replaced. This was the largest project to date in Ireland using CFRP strengthening techniques on an existing Bridge. Considerable effort went into the preparation of the deck and the monitoring and control of the installation of the CFRP plates to ensure that a satisfactory result was achieved.
